Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists as well as on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band did session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggs’ 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in the year 1976.

The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked a change from the more progressive sound of their earlier efforts and was criticized for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Fredericksen left The band held auditions to choose a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their album Fahrenheit in 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several old tapes and demos to release a special album called Toto XX. The album was well received by fans and the band went on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck took over Leland Sklar as drummer on the tour in support of the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set titled Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.
