Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one time and without the need to switch devices. They can also reduce space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to clean up the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models cannot. The only issue it has is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However, a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs are required including emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood, though we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. Unlike last year's model this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes dual cameras that can detect objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its course automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto vacuum and mop-refilling.

The only issue I have discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot hoover touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's life. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop (visit posteezy.com) with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum mop cleaner robot cleans up dry mess, including pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. In addition the X40 is quiet in its operation, with only occasional bursts of noise when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture that is curved such as table and chair legs. It is also possible to alter suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous features that make it an ideal option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, then refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you before it overflows, reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive available however, it comes with many extra features that set it apart. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot cleaner mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are many options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of features that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing but it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
