WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current item upgrader kit level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. After an item level upgrade (helpful hints) has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Upgraders for items are available at many locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrades upgrader at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was modified a bit, and some new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true even if the items are from an entirely different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a few options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for gear of a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests depending on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. This change lets players upgrade item their equipment to the highest possible level on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrader equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
