Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments and an intuitive app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to do a deep clean in the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are excellent too, with the robot hoover and mop being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. The only issue it has is that it can hit objects and walls at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and washing the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the vacuum is capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to see all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular Best robot vacuum cleaner UK vacuum and mop is the newest version. The model of this year features two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to remove smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then change its path automatically and clean around the objects without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto vacuum and mop-refilling.

The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
