Guild Wars 2 item level upgrade Upgrade

The stats of an item can be improved through upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment gives a linear increase in any stat.

Players can recycle six items at a time to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved in a variety of ways, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their value.

Upgradeable items are available all over the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. The primary method to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be inserted into equipment. The upper-right side of the screen shows the amount of upgrade components required to create an item. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the rarity and level of the item. However, you can reduce this cost by purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.

Most weapons can be improved by a prefix such as a rune or an insignia. Some can be improved with an suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item, adding an adjective, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. There are some exceptions, however. the non-inscribable weapons, such as foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any mods.

Glyphs

Glyphs are an effective tool to communicate visual information. They animate in order to grab the viewer's eye and entice curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs can also enhance the recall of a message by evoking an experience of familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph increases a stat's value by a certain amount. This is clearly displayed on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount by which glyphs can improve a stat, but the maximum value by which it can increase a stat. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you are creating it for.

The majority of upgrade components added to items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary upgrades and equipment. However, if you have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been incorporated into your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece equipment by utilizing the upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.

You can remove the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed however, you can salvage the upgraded item by using the glyph and its fragments, so this should not be considered a loss.

Rerolled items are not listed in the menu of item upgrades, but they can be upgraded. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the layout of the Best item upgrader window and allows up to six items to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its level, which means items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls will roll a % chance to determine a weapon's trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.
