Om Namah Sivaya. During mid-December the Centre was very active with good energy, including a new Yoga 1, with 9 students, taught by Ananda. Rabbi Rami Shapiro is author of over 36 books, including Minyan, Ten Principles for Living a Life of Integrity; The Divine Feminine in Biblical Wisdom Literature, sharing his encounters with Chochma/Sophia; and Holy Rascals, which is another wise book of his describing what he calls a "zero-sum worldview rooted in a Strict Father God theology in which God dominates men, men dominate women, the wealthy dominate the poor and middle class, and humans dominate nature." Rabbi Rami was so kind in the green room as we checked sound and light levels. The message was the importance of our first thought in the morning connecting with the divine and to keep it during the day. Around the grounds, the palm trees were sheared of their loose branches and coconuts in order to keep the trees healthy and the people safe. Durga Devi and Sundaram continued Yoga 1 courses, Satsang with Swami Sankariananda was full of energy with 15 people. Our free trial class attracted new people to the Centre, as always.

We hosted the incoming 30-student Yoga Studies cohort from Loyola Marymount University for a yoga class on the deck. Many Centre students were participating in the collective practice, a lecture on history and benefits of Yoga and the official video of the International Yoga day. Besides a weekly asana practice, the students in this class also learned the 5 points of Yoga to apply to daily life. Peace is not only a personal practice, but something that can be shared in each and every interaction with the world. Skill in yoga is measured in our ability to live in harmony with these changes, and transcend the drama the untrained mind creates reacting to the natural changes of the world. The celebrations were followed by a much quieter Ashram, with just a few guests remaining and the newly arriving Yoga Vacation guests enjoying the tranquility. We connected with a few who live nearby and expect them for Satsang and Karma Yoga! This was attended by a few students and teachers. The teachers take care of the Centre during the summer. When you are in the path and when you are sincerely doing Sadhana or Yogic practices, you yourself will know how to take the Kundalini from one Chakra to another.
Q 3: A person doing a wrong thing argues that he is doing it because of his Karma; and he does not even try not to do it, What is Sivananda yoga because it gives him immediate happiness. That is not freedom, rather it will give you even more boundaries. You will receive inspiration, grace, and spiritual strength. Then the third part is the spiritual level. On the final day, the parents of all the students came to watch the kids demonstrating the Asanas and taking part in Yoga quiz. Om Namah Sivaya. In August a recently started Beginners’ Yogas courses successfully continued into a second round as Yoga 2. One of our long-time teachers taught her first online classes in the Centre and continued to support us by teaching the well-attended Sunday 10 am online class. New teachers and students participated during the weekends. We completed the online "Intro to Meditation" course that met 4 times over 2 weeks, with all students proclaiming a thus-far consistent daily practice. My dream from childhood materialised over 30 years later, one evening in Rudraprayag (India), when I had forgotten that it was my soul’s deepest desire, and when I had terminated my love for art. On 9th, we concluded our evening Beginners’ course by wishing the best of luck to the students for their future yoga practice.
The Delhi Centres waited for the politics between the various powers in the Capital to be resolved and allow yoga Centres to re-open. We worked on the publicity for our next TTC Online with de European Sivananda Centres. We looked forward to the last week of the TTC. Last but not least, Daya Chaitanya started the new Restorative Yoga online course with 10 students in attendance. As August progressed we continued to improve face-to-face classes and student attendance. During the month of August the Montevideo Centre’s activities continued to be very positive, both in person and online. The rest of the activities developed normally. Rest is all well with the Grace of Gurus. All continued forward with Gurus’ Grace. In August the LA Centre weekend programs included a Yantra Painting Workshop and a well-received afternoon talk on Karma to Dharma. Their weekend was dedicated to visiting traditional yoga institutions in the LA area. Prahlada gave a talk, meditation instructions, Satsang and a Yoga class, taught at a Sri Lankan community event. Chandrashekar conducted a Meditation workshop, very nice and inspiring, the students left very happy and enthusiastic. One of our staff Vishnu Priya left to Japan today sending her off with loads of thanks & prayers.
