Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its base stats or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with bases that are strong, such as eth Titans have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, Upgrade Item thrown away by enemies or as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

To Upgrade Item a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player must select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the component or material needed for the upgrade to take place.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are similar to jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be used in any other kind of equipment. If a player upgrades a gathering tool and replaces the glyphs with a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in several fundamental ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up however the materials required don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the impact of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

If an item is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Power and it will reset to zero on failure or increases when the upgrade is successful.

Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to receive affixes that will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available is contingent on the item's base. If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials but will have a lower chance of success.

To measure the height of a structure engineers utilize a level to compare the measurement with a known reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that the buildings are constructed with a high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can dramatically improve an item's strength or damage, as well as other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an Best item upgrader. Rerolling is costly and should only be used in rare cases.

The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which are used to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a comparable item level upgrade. Each upgraded item can come with a bonus that boosts the item's power by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are offered in addition to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher the chance of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also features several sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on the same unit. This is a great method to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character and allows them to climb higher levels and progress in the game more quickly.

Sets

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into parity with their levels. For example the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower level items can enhance their defense, and improve their performance in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and upgrade item armor are more valuable when they are updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will result in a significant increase in their performance. It will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated look.
