World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

item upgrade upgrading (related) allows players to increase an item's gear score up to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For example an excellently roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. They also have an unchanging bonus that increases their damage per second. Additionally there are many weapons with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage a weapon upgrade can do on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity and level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also change the stats of the base. While this is usually an excellent thing, it can have some negative effects as well. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are extremely lucky.

Armor items can be upgraded to improve their performance. In the case of a helm or chest, this will increase the defense of its base, while gloves and belts improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to roll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats it will get when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that an upgrade from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in the weapon gaining 33% attack damage. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute number.

A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button, which is accompanied by arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will roll the item upgrades and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a a huge difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which makes traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the more health you will get from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them and each one requires you to complete a special side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the associated fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a decent-sized group of adversaries in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, providing the protection needed to survive a full on raid with a handful of friends.

Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to focus on upgrading it to gain physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to gain some benefits to your armor. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be beneficial to have a few improvements to the helmets and chest armor that permit you to sneak past some monsters.

Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, if consumed, provide the user with a temporary status effect. There are five kinds of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table or the chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price will vary based on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.

To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you select the potion you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.

When a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade in the event that you take it out again or break the bottle within the container it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.

Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the way potions are used. Splash potions for instance, now have a duration that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item. Trinkets

A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It may be a reference to an object or decoration that serves a purpose, but is not particularly important like a trinket. Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a new trinket. A player can upgrade a trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the old trinket, Item Upgrading but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

When the old Trinkets are no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can be traded between players, making them an alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the Best item upgrader-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other pieces of gear that will not be replaced soon (for instance, a ring or cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when deciding which items to upgrade. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level once they are no longer useful and the new trinket will receive an additional 1% upgrade bonus. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be salvaged with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than buying the new one.
