World of Warcraft - item upgrader Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item upgrade to 700, and then add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like perfect rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) and others, like weapons, don't change much post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats, such as the chance to crit, attack damage as well as PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also have a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. A lot of weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. In some instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is usually a good thing but it can also have negative consequences as well. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are extremely lucky.

Armor items can also be upgraded to boost their stats. This will increase the defense base of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain after upgrading, as well as the relative values of those stats. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the item menu, using the arrows that circle. This will reroll an item and change its statistics, but it will not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to traverse difficult terrains. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, the greater health you will gain from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you're looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in cold environments with a large number of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with your comrades.

You can't upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or spell power. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade item the armor that you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also unlock some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to win the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the chest armor and helmets so that you can escape some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, give a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items which can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a new trinket. One can upgrade a trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as the old one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players, then they should upgrade their chest, helm, and Item upgrading shoulders.

Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level once they're no longer needed and the new trinket will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it can be saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
