Special features like through-the-door dispensers, higher-end ice machines, and customizable flex drawers make them stand out from the crowd.

We consulted experts such as Ladina Schopf, interior designer architect, French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker founder, and co-founder of LS Projects, for tips on how to select the best one. They weighed the capacity of storage, layout and energy efficiency, among other aspects.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Like its name implies, the GE Profile series is aimed at consumers who want to incorporate cutting-edge technology into their kitchens. This refrigerator is packed with them, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a sophisticated water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Given that this fridge costs an extra amount, I'd like to see higher quality.

Apart from that minor flaw, this fridge is a great choice. It has a large freezer compartment which is uncommon for counter-depth French-door fridges. It also holds a lot of frozen food compared to other models.

The app is available on iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also comes with numerous options for customizing. It will also send you notifications when the door is left unlocked and when the fridge or freezer must be defrosted and when the filter has to be changed.

It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill which is an option that is available in a few other GE fridges that allow you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to dispense at a time. It also has a countdown on the fridge display to display how much water you have remaining, but that's not as helpful as Precise Fill.

The Ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient and makes pyramid shaped ice using minimal water. This refrigerator is the ideal option for a single family or kitchenettes who want a sleek design and top-of-the-line food preservation.

The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for a few reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained constant at just above 0°F and never fluctuated by more than a fraction, this is crucial to avoid freezing burn. The fridge's refrigerator section also performed well, achieving the desired temperature for initial set within an hour and keeping that temperature steady over the course of our testing.

Bosch is known for its premium appliances and appliances, so it's not a surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance with the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi and Bosch's Home Connect platform. The app lets you monitor and control your fridge from your tablet or smartphone. The fridge is expensive, but offers great features and functions at a fair price.

While the fridge is a fantastic piece of equipment, it's important to know the limitations. You may need to get inventive with tall items since the fridge is limited in shelf space. The shelves are also not resistant to spills and are easily stained or damaged by sharp items. The LG LRFLC2706S is a great counter-depth refrigerator that packs a lot of storage space into an extremely compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge is built with an ordinary french door fridge meaning door layout, with two rows of spill-capture shelving and a set crisper drawers. The upper right shelf can be folded down to give taller items more headroom. There's also a full-width drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker making it easy to transfer the ice when needed. The freezer also comes with clever design features, such as sliding drawers that can help you organize your items. It also comes with a large bin that can hold plenty of frozen food items and an storage bin for ice.

Smart InstaView panel is another awesome feature of the refrigerator. It lets you manage the refrigerator's temperature, lighting, and more using your smartphone. It's a simple way to monitor your refrigerator and control it, especially when you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn't necessarily improve the efficiency of the fridge. The refrigerator took longer to defrost food and chill it than other models we test. This is probably due to its bigger capacity.
