Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one time without having to swap out devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and vacuums well too. Its mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments and an intuitive app that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can opt for the robot to do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only drawback is that it can hit objects and walls at a high speed, but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand, though we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean them without skipping a beat.

It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot hoover back to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I've found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for washing manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot vacuum cleaners reviews crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its clever design permits personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without using a pad. In addition the X40 is quiet in its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 has a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture that is curved like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture with a low profile which makes it a great option for apartments or condominiums with small spaces. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice feature that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.

In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or individually. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpet and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Robots That Vacuum and Mop Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is easy to use and intuitive and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it an ideal option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you if the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot vacuum with mop that's one of the most expensive on the market and comes with many additional features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature of its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's an impressive amount of settings available, including the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a number of different preferences. They can be set through the app or buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are many features that other robots do not include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of using a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, with a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list however it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. Mopping is well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
