Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that automatic vacuum and mop robot and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one time and without the need to switch devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The autonomous vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.

You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only minor issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at a high speed, but just a glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates the need for maintenance like emptying the debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the water tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood, though we would like to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. It's not like the model from last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners might overlook.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, [empty] that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only negative I found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It comes with a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the use of a pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 has a side brush that is able to be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved such as table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for smaller apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Unlike other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can also be programmed to skip areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, [empty] cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect the moment when the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has a number of features that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and dirty spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums that mop vacuum and mop models and could be a good method to keep your home cleaner for longer.

There are a lot of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or direct buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are numerous features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles instead of using the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list but it's not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
