Illinois Business Developments

Illinois is the biggest markets in the Midwest and home to more than 2,000 corporate headquarters, a bustling entrepreneurial scene, and more than 1.2 million small-scale businesses, offers all the resources that global firms require to flourish in the modern business. The world's best infrastructure connects businesses with their suppliers and customers to skilled workers in various fields as well as an advanced manufacturing base, Illinois has a leading position in many fields including advanced and sustainable technology, agriculture, energy, life sciences transportation logistics.

Illinois has witnessed a significant increase in foreign investment over the last few years. Countries like Britain, Japan, Germany and China were among the countries that most invested in Illinois and by 2023, this sum was greater than USD $13.2 billion in agricultural, manufacturing, and other areas in Illinois all by itself.

Since 2014, over $1 billion in incentives were distributed under Illinois Reimagining Energy and Vehicles program to businesses that offer electric vehicles and green energy production. The program was announced last month. DCEO also rewarded PsiQuantum Manufacturing with an incentive package of more than $200 million for their new high-tech manufacturing facility located in East Alton.

Governor JB Pritzker was joined by representatives from Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network and local officials today in Chicago to launch CZ Biohub Chicago - a cutting-edge research hub that is at the forefront in scientific research. The initiative will bring together University of Chicago, Urbana-Champaign State University (UIUC) and Northwestern University researchers to study human tissue development as well in developing revolutionary therapeutics.

Governor JB Pritzker and Flender Corporation recently announced they have announced they are expanding their current manufacturing facility in Elgin, creating 50 full-time jobs while keeping the 140 full-time jobs they have currently.

The Illinois Small Business Development Center located at Southern Illinois volleyball news (Mirror.xyz) University is funded through a collaborative arrangement between U.S. Small Business Administration, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Southern Illinois University. The center provides local entrepreneurs with assistance in creating or expanding their businesses with services that include free business planning workshops individual counseling sessions with experienced Business Advisors, and access to financing options.

State leaders in Indiana are informing employers to provide higher salaries and benefits as a way to keep child care employees in the United States which is a problem due to a shortage of job. The move comes after the closure of a care center located in Bronzeville which was struggling to retain staff.

Illinois Department of Labor also launched an online tool designed to help small businesses understand labor laws. Employers are able to search using keywords or browse categories on the site; as well as connect to the appropriate state agencies and information sources.

Illinois Business Development Authority (IBDA) is taking action to increase awareness about Illinois' tax incentives for business expansion. The IBDA hosted a webinar this week on the subject. It was recorded and will later be archived on their website.
