WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for the latter due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level upgrade level, but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level, in the event that there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or Item level upgrade gloves, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader kit upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

The use of these currencies isn't that difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
