Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one go without the need to change devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

The only issue it has is that it can crash into walls and objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and the obstacles it's run into or robots that vacuum and mop avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance tasks need to be done like emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time as well, with the mop being able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can also view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend, though we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or mop and best automatic vacuum clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular best robot hoover mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. As with the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It then can automatically alter its direction and clean them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without using a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.

It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and understand The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has numerous features which make it a good option for busy families.
