It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.

It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single sweep. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to remove dirt, pet hair, and droppings with ease. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw out debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high speed and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into tight corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to install, and it works well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum for mopping purposes, you will need to be aware of this.

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it has some distinctive features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock, which serves as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base comes with a few control buttons that let you manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to switch on a child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad however, the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
