WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade item their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool, and Item Level Upgrade accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of button, which displays an item's preview at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item level upgrade (linked internet page) and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, item level upgrade it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment that is of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests based on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrader gear that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with top-quality gear.
