Bedside Crib and Travel Cot

Bedside cribs are a bassinet-style cot that is attached to the side of your bed. Some have a side that can be adjusted to allow easy access, while others come with an incline that is ideal for reflux babies.

MFM tester Georgina found this crib to be easy to put together and the instructions were clear, which made it an easy and quick build. It also folds down into the size of a small bag and comes with a handy bag for transport.

Easy to assemble

Bedside cribs are generally simple to set up and are on the smaller side to are able to be placed neatly beside your bed. They are also lighter, which makes them more portable. The Next2me Magic, which was shortlisted for the Best Cot, Crib or Moses Basket at the 2021 Mother&Baby Awards, is also slightly larger than the average, but is still relatively compact and easy to attach to your bed. Georgina found it easy to put together, however she was not convinced that the zips could have been better explained on the instruction manual.

Easy to clean

Find cribs with mattress covers that can be washed in the machine while looking at cribs for bed or travel cots. That will help you keep it free of leaky nappies, baby sick and spills. It is also recommended to choose one that is easily disassembled so you can clean and sanitise all the corners.
